The brief asked for the interior design study submission of the World Health Organization’s new offices in an existing listed building apartment in Athens. The aim was to apply the necessary design interventions in order to implement the organization’s identity and profile with the minimum impact on the existing classical apartment character.
Blue was selected as the predominant color of the design and was used throughout the office spaces to indicate the organization’s identity and modernize the interiors. White lacquered office cabinets wrap the perimeter walls and along with white ceilings and doors create a balanced atmosphere between the two colors.
The existing decorative gypsum cornices and fishbone parquet flooring act as a reminder of the apartments history and interact with carefully selected modern furniture and lighting fixtures to illustrate a unique interior design solution.
